Local residents were a buzz as Labour Metro Mayor candidate Dan Norris announced his plan to make the West of England the UK’s Bee capital.
At a meeting attended by local bee keepers, concerned environmentalists and the Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment, the Labour candidate made a bee-line to lend his support to the popular pollinator.
Mr Norris explained how if elected as Metro Mayor he will work with local councils to prevent the removal and mowing of wild flowers from grass verges, promote No Mow May, and encourage residents to make their gardens bee friendly.
Dan, who is a former Environment Minister said: “Let’s get our voices buzzing for bees.”
