With Net Zero Week in full swing, Metro Mayor Dan Norris visited a Bristol kitchen cabinet company doing its bit to help the city reach our ambitious net zero targets. The Mayor tried his hand at some bespoke joinery at Made By Husk based in Montpelier Bristol.
The company which transforms IKEA kitchen cabinets with custom doors and worktops is going green thanks to a grant from the West of England Combined Authority led by Metro Mayor Dan Norris.
Director Dave Young showed the Mayor around their city centre workshop and explained how the cash injection has enabled them to install LED lighting and solar panels.
Metro Mayor Dan Norris said: “Government Ministers might not take climate change seriously enough but this is one Cabinet I’m proud to be associated with. There is a climate emergency so it’s good to see a local company doing their bit to help tackle it. Small changes really do add up.”
Director Dave Young said: “It’s really important businesses work to improve their environmental credentials and the West of England Green Business Grant has helped us in our goal to operate in a more sustainable way.”
