A Bristol-based brewery received a crafty visit from West of England Metro Mayor Dan Norris
Dan Norris met brewer Bruce Gray in Left Handed Giant’s taproom. Here the Metro Mayor saw for himself how a cash injection from the West of England Combined Authority, which he leads, has helped the community owned brewery invest in a new commercial bottling line.
This means the Bristol-based brewing company can now sell beer in bottles as well as in cans. They are expanding their range of barrel-aged beers with the first bottles off the new production line being a fruity flavoured tipple called ‘Blender’.
The Metro Mayor also heard how Left Handed Giant was named in the top 10 new breweries in the world in a RateBeer website survey earlier this year.
Metro Mayor Dan Norris said: “I know how difficult the pandemic has been for many hospitality businesses in the West of England – but here we can see that success is really brewing. This is a great local success story that is being noticed at a global level and that is really helping put our amazing area on the map.”
