Winners announced in Metro Mayor Christmas Card Competition

The festive designs of budding young artists from across the West of England feature on Metro Mayor Dan Norris’ 2021 Christmas card.

Youngsters from across the region have been busy with crayons, felt tips and paints to create some fantastic festive drawings.

After carefully judging thousands of entries, 10-year-old Millie’s design of a reindeer looking up at a Christmas pudding saw off stiff competition to take the top prize. Runners up were Eadie (7) from Chandag Infant School, Lucia (8), from Holy Cross School, Bedminster, Nevaya (6), from Woodlands Academy, Stockwood; Bella (6), from Broomhill Infants School, Brislington; Charlotte (9), from Bishop Sutton Primary School; Deacon (7), from St Michael’s Primary, Winterbourne and Ilina (7), from Courtney Primary School, Kingswood.

Dan presented an art box to Millie and a copy of the Christmas card this week at her school’s festive celebration.

Now Millie’s card is being sent to organisations, charities and businesses right across the West of England and the U.K. including to the Prime Minister in Downing Street.

Metro Mayor Dan Norris said:
“With all the amazing entries, my office looks like a winter wonderland at the moment! What talented youngsters we have in the West of England. Their drawings are amazing. I loved Eadie’s tree, Bella’s beautiful wreath, Nevaya’s cheerful reindeer, Lucia’s cheerful Santa, Charlotte’s tree with penguins, Deacon’s superb snowman and Ilina’s Christmas home scene. Millie’s entry particularly stood out for me. What a cracker! Thank you to everyone who entered and I hope you have a merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2022.”
