The new Badminton Road park and ride site in Yate has opened today.
The £4.5 million project has been funded through the Combined Authority led by Metro Mayor Dan Norris and the Local Enterprise Partnership.
The new site has 198 car parking spaces plus 46 spaces for bikes and features improved bus stops adjacent. Buses will run approximately every 30 minutes.
There are future plans to installed 38 electric vehicle charge points, a car club and click and collect lockers.
West of England Mayor Dan Norris said: “I welcome the opening of this new Park & Ride. I support all measures to make it as easy as possible for local people to get into Bristol by bus rather than car. That’s vital if we are going to meet our ambitious net zero targets. Of course we need to go much further than this and will need investment in more frequent buses to make this truly transformative. We also need to crack on with a new Park & Ride at the northern end of the M32.”
